Monstera Propagation: Here’s how

  1. Cut a healthy stem from the mother plant with a sharp knife
  2. Remove any leaves from the bottom few inches of the stem
  3. Dip the cutting in water and then place it in a soil mix made up of half potting soil and half perlite or vermiculite
  4. Water well and keep the soil moist
  5. Place in a warm, sunny spot and wait for new leaves to grow

In just a few weeks, you will see new leaves growing from the cutting. Once the cutting has grown several new leaves, it can be transplanted into a pot of its own.

Another way of monstera propagation is by seed, but this is a little more difficult and takes longer. This could be done by following these instructions:

  1. Sow the monstera seeds in a pot of moist soil
  2. Cover the pot with plastic wrap to create a greenhouse effect
  3. Keep the soil moist and wait for the seeds to germinate
  4. Once the seeds have germinated, remove the plastic wrap and place the pot in a sunny spot
  5. When the seedlings are big enough, transplant them into their own pot

It will take a long time for the monstera plants to grow large enough to be transplanted outside. But, if you’re patient, you will eventually have a beautiful monstera plant of your own!

So there you have it – two easy ways of monstera propagation. Try out one of these methods and you’ll be enjoying your own monstera in no time!

Enjoy your beautiful monstera plants!
